HOw far should a messenger bag drop? Should it wrap around the waist covering one cheeck? I have seen some guys wear it like that or should the center of the bag hit your side?
Question about proper way to wear a messenger bag?
I'm actually not entirely sure, but I think a messenger bag should be worn a little on the higher side so that it's resting on your hip (easy access). I think anything higher than that is a bit much. I don't think it should be low enough so that it hits your behind or even your legs (which I've seen people do). It looks kind of silly and I think that might impede walking and cause it to bounce more. You probably want to wear it in a comfortable position where it won't move/bounce too much while you're walking.
As far as how far back you should wear it, I think it should be towards the back side of your hip. It stays out of the way that way I think, but still stays accessible. It shouldn't be so far back that it's resting on your backside.
If anything, I think where you wear your strap is the most important part. People like to wear their messenger bag on one shoulder, but the strap should be pulled over your head so that it forms a diagonal across your chest and bag. This makes sure that the bag doesn't fall and it's more helpful balance-wise.
I hear a lot of things about backpacks being better than messenger bags, but I think it all depends on how much you're putting in your bag and if you're wearing it properly.
Reply:It Should Be At Arms Length. Just Enough So You Can Slip Your Hand In And Out With Ease And It Should Be Worn With Enough Comfort, If Its Uncomfortable, Then You Are Wearing It Wrong.
Example: Put The Messenger Bag On Your Shoulder/Or Crossed. Then Put Your Arms At Your Sides, Your Fingertips Should Not Touch The Bottom Of Your Bag (About Halfways Should Do). Adjust It, And Check It Infront Of The Mirror And See How It Looks On You.
