I want to download msn messenger onto my mac. and when I press instal, a window pops up and says WLinstaller.exe. whatever that means... When I click on "view in finder" it brings up the finder window. so i click on that.. when that menu pops up, its in a total different language, but in english at the very top, it says this program cannot run in DOS mode. what do i do?

It sounds like you are trying to download the windows version of Messenger. You need the Mac-specific version, or something that supports the MSN protocol. Links below.
